Consultation has concluded.

Public input on the budget was gathered through:

  • A Citizen Input Survey;
  • An online Budget Open House; and
  • In-person Coffee with Council events (at the Off-Leash Dog Park Grand Opening in June, and the Community Registration and Job Fair Event in August).

Citizen input on the 2025 Town of Ponoka Annual Budget was presented to Town Council for careful review and consideration during the 2025 budget deliberation process.

Budget deliberations were held on October 29 and 30 in Council Chambers on the third floor of the Ponoka Civic Centre. Budget deliberations are open to the public.

Following budget deliberations, a 2025 Interim Town Budget was approved by Ponoka Town Council at the November 12 Regular Council Meeting. For more details about the 2025 Interim Town Budget, please click here.

Public Consultation Results

The top three priorities identified by 100 citizens who participated in the public consultation process on the 2025 Town of Ponoka Budget were:

  • Community Safety;
  • Parks and Recreation; and
  • Infrastructure.

Citizen Satisfaction Survey

The Town of Ponoka also conducted a statistically representative survey in 2022 in which 400 citizens were randomly selected to participate in phone interviews to determine their views on topics, such as: quality of life in the community, satisfaction levels with municipal services, and priorities that citizens would like Council to consider during budget and strategic planning.
