Thank you to all citizens who provided feedback during the two rounds of public engagement on the proposed expanded skate park design. Construction of the expanded skate park will depend on future consideration and approval of the park design and budget by Town Council.
Where Would the Skate Park Be Located?
The current conceptual plans could see the existing Hamilton Skate Park extended south to include the space currently occupied by the former Town of Ponoka recycling yard. The sidewalk in front of the Hamilton Skate Park would also be extended south to connect with the pedestrian bridge that crosses over the Battle River and connects with the river valley trail system.
Construction of the expanded skate park will depend on future consideration and approval of the park design, location and budget by Town Council.
The new expanded skate park aligns with Council’s strategic priorities of enhancing the quality of life for Ponoka citizens through improvements to recreational amenities. Planning and design development of the proposed expanded skate park are also based on recommendations in the Town of Ponoka’s Downtown Action Plan and Recreation Master Plan.
