Consultation has concluded

Thank you to all citizens who provided input on a new, expanded, multi-use skate park for Ponoka.

Conceptual plans of the expanded multi-use skate park were initially presented to the community in the spring of 2022 for public consultation.

The public consultation continued for over two years, and the opportunities included:

  • In-person events, such as Trade Shows in 2022 and 2023, and a pop-up youth engagement session in the summer of 2023;
  • Engagement through the Town’s Community Enhancement Committee; and
  • Here on the Town’s online engagement platform.

Construction began in June 2024 and continued throughout the summer of 2025. The multi-use skate park is now fully complete.

The new expanded facility has been designed for multi-use equipment, including skateboards, bicycles, inline skates and scooters. The multi-use skate park includes:

  • A 38-metre long snake run;
  • Vert, pyramid and bank ramps;
  • Seven-stair set;
  • Flat bar;
  • Quarter pipe;
  • Rainbow rail; and
  • Landscaping gathering and seating areas.
