Budget Consultation 2024

Thank you for your feedback on the 2024 Town of Ponoka Budget.

Public input on the budget was gathered this past summer through:

• A Citizen Input Survey;
• An online Budget Open House; and
• In-person Coffee with Council events (at the Ponoka Community Market and Ponoka Farmers Market).

Citizen input on the 2024 Town of Ponoka Annual Budget was presented to Town Council for careful review and consideration during the 2024 budget deliberation process.

Public Consultation Results

The top priorities identified by 55 citizens who participated in the public consultation process on the 2024 Town of Ponoka Budget were:

• Community safety, policing and crime prevention;
• Parks, recreation and culture, which includes improvements to recreation facilities, parks and trails in the Town of Ponoka;
• Growth and economic health, which includes attracting more businesses;
• Quality of Life (a safe, healthy and thriving community); and
• Improvements to Town roads and sidewalks.

Citizen Satisfaction Survey

The Town of Ponoka also conducted a statistically representative survey in 2022 in which 400 citizens were randomly selected to participate in phone interviews to determine their views on topics, such as: quality of life in the community, satisfaction levels with municipal services, and priorities that citizens would like Council to consider during budget and strategic planning.
